Toy Maker Bandai Is Bringing Back Its Original Tamagotchi

Bandai is re-releasing its original Tamagotchi from the 90s in honor of the toy's 20th anniversary.

Toy maker Bandai is re-releasing its original Tamagotchi model from the 90s for its 20th anniversary.

There are just two catches, according to The Telegraph. The re-release will be just slightly smaller than the 90s version, and it’s only being released in Japan.

Kids of the 90s hoping to relive their childhood still have a chance though: Bandai has made it available on Amazon Japan. Shipping might cost more than usual, but it’ll be cheaper than a plane ticket.

The Tamagotchi itself is approximately ¥ 1,900, or a little over $17. If that’s still too much, you can always download the app for $0.99.
