Hackers Hijack Major Twitter Accounts and Call Germany and Holland Nazis

Accounts hijacked included references to #Nazialmanya and #Nazihollanda - Nazi Germany and Nazi Holland.

Twitter accounts hacked

Multiple Twitter accounts were hijacked early Wednesday with pro-Turkish sentiments.

The hashtags #Nazialmanya and #Nazihollanda (translated as Nazi Germany and Nazi Holland), were posted on several high profile accounts, including European Parliament, BBC North America, and Forbes, Reuters reported. The hijackings also included references to April 16, when Turkey is holding a referendum to give more power to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to Reuters, Twitter is investigating the hack.

The references to #Nazihollanda comes after Turkey imposed sanctions on the Netherlands and suspended high level political discussions after the country refused to let Turkish ministers campaign over the weekend. The Netherlands is holding national elections today.
